Permanent Position: Youth and Family Outreach Support worker
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Youth and Family Outreach Support Worker provides a variety of services to at-risk youth (12-19 years of age) and their families in Victoria and the surrounding municipalities. The position provides services and interventions through crisis response, safety assessment and risk reduction services. It aims to provide conflict resolution and parent-teen mediation to assist in family stabilization and reunification. Much of this position requires working collaboratively in an outreach and community-based capacity.
WHO YOU ARE
- You are able to work independently, and constructively and effectively with others in both group and one-on-one settings.
- You are able to work collaboratively within youth services in Victoria
- You have good organization, time and management skills.
- Act as a strong advocate for youth and families, supporting their voices, needs and goals while connecting them with appropriate resources and services.
WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for someone with:
-Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work or in a related human services field.
-A minimum of 5 years experience (out of the last 10 years) which includes:
- Knowledge and experience with high-risk youth and their families
- Experience working with high-risk youth and families in a counselling or other helping capacity
- Experience with community-based programs and related community support systems
-Valid driver’s license and own vehicle to transport youth
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary: CA$ 27.50 per hour

The Youth Empowerment Society is a non-profit community service agency offering support and services to youth and their families. When hiring relief staff, The Youth Empowerment Society hires for both residential sites.
Specialized Youth Detox Withdrawal Management Support Worker
The Withdrawal Management Support Worker is responsible for providing the necessary services and support to youth accessing the detox program and their family support systems. Counsellors aim to meet short-term physical, emotional and psychological needs of youth by providing support, screening and assessment, crisis response, relapse prevention strategies and counselling.
Kiwanis Emergency Youth Shelter Residential Crisis Support Worker
The Crisis Support Worker is responsible for providing the necessary services and support to youth accessing the emergency youth shelter and their family support systems. Counsellors aim to meet short-term physical, emotional and psychological needs of youth by providing support, screening and assessment, crisis response and counselling.
Wage: $22.00 for day shifts and $23.00 for overnight awake shifts.
