Griffin Housing Support Fund

Helping Youth Stay Housed

The Griffin Housing Support Fund helps youth overcome short-term financial barriers that could put their housing at risk. Through flexible, practical support, the fund helps young people maintain stability during critical moments and avoid the disruption of homelessness.

How to Access the Fund

The Griffin Housing Support Fund is available to youth who are actively connected to a VYES program.

Because the fund is designed to be part of a broader support plan, requests are made in collaboration with a youth’s assigned worker. Together, youth and staff identify housing-related barriers, explore available resources, and determine whether support from the fund may be appropriate.

Youth who are not currently connected to VYES are encouraged to contact our Intake Coordinator to learn more about available programs and supports.

To learn more about accessing VYES services, please visit our Get Help page or contact our Intake Coordinator at intakecoordinator@vyes.ca or 250-383-3514.

What the Fund Supports

The Griffin Housing Support Fund may help with urgent housing-related needs such as:

  • Damage deposits or rent support
  • Utility arrears or essential housing-related bills
  • Moving costs
  • Basic household items needed to establish or maintain housing
  • Transportation connected to housing stability
  • Emergency needs that help prevent a housing crisis

This fund is designed to respond quickly and practically, recognizing that a relatively small amount of support at the right time can make a significant difference in a young person’s life.
